Undergraduate Research and Fellowships Mentoring Events and Deadlines Calendar
The Spark Program
Open to First- and Second-Year Students
“What exactly is a fellowship? Why are out-of-classroom experiences important? How can I prepare for future opportunities now?” These questions – and more! – are answered by the Spark Program, a 7-week fellowships development course for first and second year Penn State students. Hosted by the Undergraduate Research and Fellowships Mentoring (URFM) office, the Spark Program will highlight available opportunities, such as Fulbright and the Erikson Discovery Grant, while working with students to sharpen their skills and get connected with university resources. The program is cohort-style and will comprise of weekly one-hour sessions on Tuesdays from 4-5 p.m
The Undergraduate Research Ambassador Program
Open to Second-Year Students and Above
The Undergraduate Research and Fellowships Mentoring (URFM) office is now accepting applications for Research Ambassadors! The Ambassadors program is a volunteer opportunity for undergraduates who are passionate about promoting undergraduate research at Penn State and helping others find their path. Research Ambassadors act as peer mentors and representatives of the URFM office. Students must be in at least their second year and enrolled full-time to apply.
